This tour stops by the Charleston Farmer's Market to pick out ingredients and then to a restaurant for a multi-course, farm to table meal. Participating restaurants include: Leaf Cafe, HoM, Prohibition, 39 Rue de Jean and Southend Brewery and Smokehouse.
Chef's Showcase at the Farmer's Market Culinary Tour
HOURS: Saturdays when the Farmer's Market is in season 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
MEETING PLACE: Corner of Meeting and John Streets, 375 Meeting Street
COST: $65 per person
This 3 hour tour showcases some of Charleston's best Chefs and Charleston's award-winning farmer's market, which was nationally ranked by Travel and Leisure Magazine. Starting at the corner of Meeting and John Streets near the Charleston Visitor Center, you will meet your tour guide and that day's participating Chef, who will lead the group to the farmer's market to pick out the freshest ingredients the market has to offer. After you and your Chef pick out ingredients and you explore the market, your guide will take the group on a walking tour for approximately 45 minutes. Meanwhile, the Chef will prepare a multi-course meal utilizing the ingredients just purchased at the market, for a true farm-to-table experience.
The Chef's Showcase at the Farmer's Market Culinary Tour is available when the Charleston Farmer's Market is open, on Saturdays from mid-April through mid-December.
TIP: This is a great way to explore the Market, meet one of Charleston's Chefs and see how creative that Chef can be in the kitchen!
